Engineering Project Day 2017

May 11, 2017

Engineering student demonstrating

Students at South Downs College in the Engineering department got the chance to showcase their projects on Wednesday 3 May. The projects were viewed by fellow students, staff and most importantly local engineering companies that they may already work for, or hope to work for in the future!

Each student was given the chance to independently manage their project from start to finish over the course of 26 weeks. Projects included a flashing indicator bike jacket, a hydraulic brick and slab cutter, a shoe rack and a quadcopter.

Richard Barlow, Vice Principal said:

The day was a celebration of all that’s excellent in our engineering provision. The breadth and quality of work on display was impressive. The students are proud of their achievements, and the opportunities for them to excel as they progress in their chosen careers are clear to all who attended on the day.
