Students from South Downs College travelled to Nottingham University on 21 April, to represent the South East for the Learners with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities (LLDD) 7-aside football National Championships. This was the first time in four years that the South East had been represented. The team played seven matches against some very strong teams, including some that had been partaking in the national competitions for four to five years.

Due to the success of other athletes in the region and the participation from South Downs College, the South East has retained the much revered Wilkinson Sword trophy.

Kirsty Taylor, South Downs College Sport Maker said:

“Overall the team finished 8th, however the boys played amazingly well. Being part of the Nationals was amazing experience for the team and we hope that we will be able to go again in 2018!”
