If you’re looking to establish yourself as an artist and develop your own products/portfolio in order to sell your work, then this course is perfect for you.
The course focuses on developing industry skills and connections. You’ll work in a studio with motivated and creative students, with each of you building your own product line and brand to make an industry impact. All the creative lecturers have industry experience.
You’ll be able to establish yourself as a working artist, to develop a product line and portfolio in a broad range of creative industries including graphics, textiles, fashion, art, illustration, photography, 3D, digital media and film/print media. You will learn how to run your own enterprise, market your products and become commercially successful.

Our entry profile recommends that you have one of the following:
– BTEC Level 3 qualification in Graphics & Photography, Graphic Design, Art & Design, Business or Media
– A Level profile which demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or an adequate performance in more than one A Level subject.
On this UAL Level 4 Diploma at HSDC Alton, you will study:
Units 1 and 2 will be Pass only. The overall qualification is graded on Unit 3 and is graded at Fail, Pass, Merit or Distinction.
The course will develop your own project management skills and cover copyright laws, fundraising (kick starter), basic accounts and budgeting, pitching proposals, marketing, social media advertising and branding, as you will need to create yourself as a brand.
You can expect to develop your knowledge of graphic design, photography, screen printing, print knowledge, illustration, marketing, basic accounts, putting on an exhibition, basic web design and experience of working on live projects.
You will attend approximately 15 hours of studio time, workshops, lectures and tutorials each week over a period of 30 weeks.
