All students will be expected to comply with the beauty industry standards of dress code; this applies to both theory and practical lessons. Jewellery and facial piercings are not acceptable and must be removed before entering classes.

The course involves a considerable amount of practical work, alongside employer involvement. There will be master classes set up by employers throughout the learning programme. During workshop sessions you will watch demonstrations of skills, which you will then practice on each other before progressing to work on paying clients. You will also receive separate lessons in theory, anatomy and physiology which will help to develop your knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Beauty Therapy.

Practical assessments are externally set by the awarding organisation and internally marked. Candidates will be able to identify and use effective skills, knowledge and understanding from across the unit’s content area and will be judged against the unit grading criteria. You will always need to be in full uniform and carry your kit to all practical classes. You are required to keep a record of achievement log book as evidence of treatments performed. Exams will be externally set and marked. You are also required to do three weeks of work experience.

Once the course is completed you can apply to progress onto the Level 3 in Beauty Therapy. Those students who do not wish to go onto the next level course can obtain employment within the beauty industry.

I’m really happy and pleased with my grades. I really loved my time at the college, I have also made lots of friends, it’s a really nice place to be, I don’t want to leave.

Lauren Piper, A Level student

Everyone at the College was really helpful, and there’s lots of facilities, meaning it’s very easy to get your work done on time, and get good grades. The teaching and support was excellent, they were always on top of it, and made sure you got work done on time and you were challenged. Everyone is friendly and its really diverse, meaning you can get involved in lots of different things.

Conor Ward, BTEC student

My experience with the teaching and support was really well, as I’m dyslexic, they helped me a lot and I’ve achieved good grades, so I’m really pleased.

Thomas McCann, A Level student
