Overview

Business Administrators are required across all sectors and all sizes of organisations; from the public, private and charitable sectors.

You’ll work independently or as part of a team to develop, implement, maintain and improve administrative services. With a focus on adding value, your role will contribute to the efficiency of an organisation, through the support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the Apprentice to develop a wide range of skills, knowledge and behaviours.

You’ll be expected to perform your daily tasks efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive and professional attitude. Your role will involve demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to your continuous professional development. You’ll also be expected to show initiative, the ability to manage priorities and your own time, problem-solving skills, decision-making and the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others.

Our expectation is that all Apprentices should already possess English and Mathematics to a GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent. However, we will consider applicants without these grades subject to an initial assessment with one of the Apprenticeship Team.

This is a fully work-based Apprenticeship. Full delivery of the Apprenticeship takes place with your Apprenticeship Assessor visiting you and your Mentor in your place of work on a monthly basis.

Typical Course Duration – 15 months & 1-3 months End Point Assessment period.

Apprentices can be taught via classroom delivery, work-based learning /assessment, and vocational “on and off the job training”. This is always dependent on the course requirements, the preferences of the business, and the wishes of the learner.

Knowledge test, portfolio based interview and project/improvement presentation.

The Business Administrator Apprenticeship may be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as senior support or office management roles.

Opportunities may exist to gain professional accreditation in your chosen field post completion of the qualification. Your Assessor will support you with information on gaining professional accreditation.

As we work with Apprentices that are already employed, if you attend our day release programmes you will mix with a diverse range of businesses with Apprentices in the same sector.
