The Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship is aimed at employees who already manage care and support services and are looking to gain a qualification to help improve their ways of working in the Care industry.The Leader in Adult Care will guide and inspire teams to make positive differences to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, psychological or intellectual challenges. They will be a leader of the care team and will develop and implement a values-based culture at a service or unit level. They may be responsible for business development, financial control, organisational resilience and continuity, as well as for managing risk and leading on organisational change. A Leader in Adult Care has responsibility for managing community or residential based services. This role has a large element of leadership, whether with other care workers and networks or in leading the service itself. They have a responsibility to ensure the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well-led. They may be a registered manager of a service, unit, deputy or assistant manager. They will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance of the care given and the values and training of staff with established standards and regulations.
Our expectation is that all Apprentices should already possess English and Mathematics to a GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent. However, we will consider applicants without these grades subject to an initial assessment with one of the Apprenticeship Team.A Level 3 qualification in a similar sector or significant experience is also required for this qualification.
This is a fully work-based Apprenticeship. Full delivery of the Apprenticeship takes place with your Apprenticeship Assessor visiting you and your Mentor in your place of work on a monthly basis. Typical Course Duration: 21 months and 1-3 Months for End Point Assessment Period.
Apprentices can be taught via classroom delivery, work-based learning/assessment and vocational “on and off the job training”. This is always dependent on the course requirements, the preferences of the business and the wishes of the learner.
Observation of leadership and professional discussion.
On completion, Apprentices can choose to progress onto specialist qualifications in adult care & healthcare.
Opportunities may exist to gain professional accreditation in your chosen field post completion of the qualification. Your Assessor will support you with information on gaining professional accreditation. As we work with Apprentices that are already employed, if you attend our day release programmes you will mix with a diverse range of businesses with Apprentices in the same sector.
