Overview

This course will equip you with a detailed understanding of the lean management system and how to implement business improvement techniques and employ effective team work in a business.  You will learn how to implement lean management and business improvement techniques for your organisation.

There is an expectation that learners would have a minimum of Level 1 English or skills at that level prior to enrolment.

This course is split into three manageable units –

Unit 1 – Lean organisation techniques in business – the learning goals would include the principles of lean organisation techniques, the benefits of a lean environment, productivity needs analysis, processes and process mapping.

Unit 2 – Business improvement techniques – includes continuous improvement techniques, workplace organisation, improving the work environment and eliminating waste.

Unit 3 – Effective team work in business – learning goals would include what makes an effective team, dealing with conflicts, reviewing performance and understanding roles of team leaders.

Once you have enrolled on the course, you will be allocated a tutor and assigned to your learning platform. Induction will follow and then you will be able to commence your course.

You will be assessed by submitting individual units of work and receive feedback for each unit as you progress. There is no final exam.

This course is free to all learners.

On completion of this course you will be workplace ready or have enhanced your existing work skills. You could progress on to any other distance learning course or look into Level 3 options.

My experience at the college has been really good, it’s been really rewarding, all the lecturers were so lovely and supportive there’s no way I could have done it without them - the teaching has been outstanding.
