Five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English Language and Mathematics, as well as an audition that requires you to demonstrate that you are advance enough on your instrument/voice to start rehearsing with a band.

This course can be studied alongside your other A Levels and is equivalent to 1.5 full A Level. This course cannot be taken as full time Vocational subject.

Units on the course will consist of: working and developing as a music ensemble, composing music and pop music in practice. The course will contain practical and theoretical elements, as well as performances.


You will be continually assessed on Pass, Merit and Distinction criteria in all the units on the course. Much of the work is practical in nature but written assignments are required to support this. There is no final examination.

On completion of the course alongside your other qualifications you will be able to progress to relevant Higher Education courses, into industry or onto an Apprenticeship.
