You will need a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 3 or above. Specifically a grade 3 will be required in GCSE Mathematics. However a two year GCSE Mathematics course or Functional Skills can be undertaken with a grade 1 or 2.

The Foundation level is intended for students who have previously gained a grade D in GCSE Mathematics, whilst the Higher is there for those students who wish to improve on their C grade.
As part of the course you will cover the following aspects of Mathematics

  • Number
  • Algebra
  • Ratio, Proportion and rates of change
  • Geometry and Measure

"I am delighted with my results and am really looking forward to studying Law at Oxford University. I really enjoyed my time at HSDC Alton and I really appreciate all the help and support from my fantastic teachers, without whom I wouldn't have got my place at Oxford."

Catherine Goldie, HSDC Alton A Level Student

This is a really good college, and it is definitely somewhere you can achieve your dreams.

Yolanda Stemp, BTEC student

My experience at the college was enjoyable and productive, with thoroughly helpful people surrounding you, an excellent experience. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was, with the work shop time and experience I had, it was a great two years preparing me for the next stage.

Edward Smith, BTEC student
