Finance has a hand in running nearly everything you consume within your daily lives in a multitude of areas. This course will allow you to develop an understanding of financial disciplines and prepare you for working in this important industry.
Your lessons will take place in our high-spec business classrooms with access to the latest industry information and topics in the finance sector. You will spend time in the classroom, learning the basic principles and theory of the finance industry, and in the process develop your professional and technical skills. You will also spend a minimum of 45 days on an industrial placement, either every week or on a block placement. The industry placement will be with a leading employer and will help you develop the right knowledge, technical skills and professional behaviours for working in this sector. This course ensures you can rival all students with a unique blend of both academic and industry experience with a work placement giving you the real-world skills you require for future employment.
Grade 4 or above in English Language GCSE, grade 6 or above in Mathematics GCSE and three additional GCSEs at grade 4 or above.
The Finance T Level includes the following core units:
In Year 2 you will potentially have the choice of which occupational specialism you study. The occupational specialism is made up of specialist units to develop specific knowledge and skills in either retail and commercial banking analysis or insurance practition.
You will be taught on campus three to four days a week with a full time programme of lessons in our business rooms. We provide the specialist knowledge and industry expertise to prepare you for employment with some of the best companies and employers. Throughout the course, you will also work with our partner employers, each one a leader in their field, who will help you apply the theory and skills learnt in college to real industry applications.
You will be assessed through an exam, industrial placement, work-based project and
synoptic assessment.
On completion of the Finance T Level, you could secure jobs such as senior financial services, customer adviser, mortgage adviser or insurance practitioner.
