Overview

This qualification could assist you in gaining employment opportunities in roles such as a Nutritionist or Chef.

A requirement for the course is that you have a minimum of Level 1 in English and Mathematics or be prepared to sit an English and Mathematics assessment to establish your current levels. Please discuss any queries regarding your English and Mathematics because all applications will be considered on an individual basis.

On this online course you will study the following units:

Explore the principles of healthy eating
Consider the nutritional needs of a variety of individuals
Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet
The principles of weight management
Understanding eating disorders
Principles of food safety for the home environment

All learning will take place using an interactive distance learning platform with a virtual tutor and an HSDC assessor, who will be on hand for any queries and will mark your assessments and provide you with feedback.

You will be assessed through online assessments.

Upon completion of this course, you could progress to another Distance Learning programme or transfer your skills to an appropriate job role such as a Nutritionist or Chef.
