This course has been developed in response to emerging industry trends and the skills and knowledge requirements of employers. By achieving this nationally recognised qualification you will gain a valuable understanding of warehousing and logistics.
The qualification has been designed to support those involved with distributive operations, such as dealing with inbound and outbound deliveries, assembling order through to dispatching goods, keeping stock at required levels, operating equipment to perform work requirements.
This course is aimed at those who already have some understanding of logistic operations and wish to develop this further.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, experience of working in this sector is desirable though not essential.
The qualification consists of one unit with five learning outcomes:
Unit 1 Warehousing and Storage Principles learning outcomes
- Understand how to receive and store goods and materials
- Understand how to process orders and dispatch goods
- Understand how to deliver effective customer service
- Understand Health, Safety, Security and Legislation
- Understand how to be an effective team worker
The course is classroom based with a series of assignments which will be set over the duration of the course. Learners will have access to digital learning technology to support their classroom studies.
A range of teaching and learning methods will be used to deliver this course, including scenario-based problem solving, role play, group and individual assessments. Lessons are part time, 3 hours, and will combine tutorials, theoretical delivery and assignment workshops to support learners to develop their academic and vocational skills in this subject.
The course is staffed by industry specialist with backgrounds in logistics, transport and warehousing.
This course is assignment based and will be assessed through assignments set over the duration of the course.
Future Career Opportunities
Learners can progress onto a Level 3 qualification in Warehousing & Storage, undertake an apprenticeship or enter employment.
