The Havant & South Downs College Business Breakfast is an excellent opportunity to network with other local businesses whilst enjoying a delicious breakfast* prepared by our Catering students. In addition to the opportunity to meet like-minded business professionals, each event welcomes a key note speaker to share their expertise.
“I’ve attended a number of the Business Breakfasts at Havant & South Downs College – not only is there an interesting gathering of local entrepreneurs from businesses of various sizes with whom to engage but I also had the opportunity to be a presenter so that I could share more of the ethos and mission behind my business. And for once at a breakfast meeting – both coffee and the breakfast were tasty!” Heather Barrie – Harrie’s Coffee
The Business Breakfast will be taking place on the 15 May 7.30-9am – this event is FREE to attend
The guest speaker for this event will be Geoff Holt from the charity Wetwheels. Geoff will be speaking about ‘Making boating accessible… to everyone‘.
In 2007 Geoff became the first disabled person to sail single-handed around Great Britain, and In 2009 he sailed across the Atlantic Ocean unassisted. Speaking about the charity Geoff says:
“Of all the projects I have been involved with, Wetwheels gives me the greatest pleasure. Over the years I have witnessed thousands of disabled people of all ages enjoy being on the water. It doesn’t matter if that is on a sail boat or a motor boat; it is being on the water that makes the difference. With many sailing charities, I realised there were too few opportunities to go powerboating for disabled people. With that realisation, I created the Wetwheels project to remedy that lack of opportunity. Judging from the smiles, I think we’ve found a winning formula”.
