Overview

An Accounts or Finance Assistant’s work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry. An Accounts or Finance Assistant can work in almost any sector.

Our expectation is that all Apprentices should already possess English and Maths to GCSE grade C / 4 or equivalent. However, we will consider applicants without these grades subject to an initial assessment with one of the Apprenticeship Team.

You’ll learn to apply a transparent and objective manner in all actions and interactions to ensure that you meet the ethical requirements of the profession. As well as ensuring fully competency as an Accounts/Finance Assistant, the Apprenticeship will provide you with the foundation for progression into a number of career paths.Typical course duration: 12 months & 1-3 months End Point Assessment period.

Apprentices can be taught via classroom delivery, work-based learning/assessment, and vocational “on and off the job training”. This is always dependent on the course, the preferences of the business, and the wishes of the learner.

Synoptic Test, Portfolio & Reflective Discussion.

Level 3 Apprenticeship (Assistant Accountant) or other career paths in the Accounting sector including but not limited to: Audit Trainee, Corporate Recovery Analyst, Credit Controller or Payroll Clerk.

My experience at the college has been really good, it’s been really rewarding, all the lecturers were so lovely and supportive there’s no way I could have done it without them - the teaching has been outstanding.

Lucie Brooks, A Level student

I’m really happy and pleased with my grades. I really loved my time at the college, I have also made lots of friends, it’s a really nice place to be, I don’t want to leave.

Lauren Piper, A Level student

I would say it’s a college that really balances academia with fun, there is lots of extra-curricular stuff that you can get involved in. It has a really good work/life balance.
