Free parking
Both the Havant and South Downs Campuses have free onsite parking, as well as good public transport links.

Food outlets
Regardless of which campus you are working on you will have access to onsite Cafés including Starbucks (bring your own travel cup for discounts on hot drinks on both sites).

In addition to the refectories, the South Downs Campus also has a College restaurant available for dinner reservations, as well as offering lunches at various periods throughout the year. You can also access ‘Le Shop’ – an outlet selling pre-prepared food from our professional chefs in training.  

The South Downs Campus has its own OFSTED rated outstanding nursery, spaces are accessible for children of staff working at either campus.

All HSDC staff have access to the libraries at both our Havant and South Downs Campuses, with the opportunity to borrow books for research, professional development or leisure, and even take part in the book exchange initiative.

Gym and sports facilities
The South Downs Campus gym is free to use for staff, there is also a sports massage clinic at various points throughout the year. Colleagues are also able to make the most of exercise classes offered on-site, both at lunchtimes and after work hours.

As an organisation which puts education at the forefront of everything we do, it’s only right that we take the same approach for our employees.

There are a wide range of training and continued development opportunities available to staff. These include in-house sessions on coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars, staff development days, as well as funding available towards relevant qualifications.

HSDC also offers opportunities for funded research and cross-college projects, with some research bids involving international travel to speak at conferences.

At HSDC, we value dual professionalism. If you have industry experience and a desire to teach we can help you on your journey to become a fully qualified lecturer. We can offer 50% of funding towards your PGCE/Cert Ed fees* or cover the cost of your qualification upfront with the option of a repayment plan. This means you can work and qualify at the same time!

*If you are recruited as an unqualified lecturer, you must enrol on the within your first 2 years of employment. You are also enrolled on the fully funded Level 3 Award in Education & Training (formally known as PTLLS) shortly after you start with us, so your formal teacher training starts straight away.

Student discount card
All employees are eligible to purchase an NUS TOTUM card. This gives you access to hundreds of discounts with retailers including Co-op and ASOS alongside money off restaurants and attractions such as Alton Towers and Pizza Express.

25% off hair & beauty treatments
All staff receive a 25% discount on treatments offered at the South Downs Campus training salon Synergy.

KAARP staff discount
HSDC staff all have access to KAARP, an employee benefits discount website that offers a range of discounts across entertainment, finance, health, motoring and shopping.

Costco membership
Staff have access to a Costco wholesale membership, giving you access to a wide range of discounted products.

Reduced print costs
Our Print Services are available to the general public for the printing of pictures, invitations, cards, leaflets, brochures and more. As a member of staff you are able to get preferential rates for any personal printing requests.

Giving back to the community is an important part of working at HSDC. All staff are given the chance to give back to causes close to their heart. There are opportunities for volunteering and regular fundraising activities for both local and national charities.
