When will enrolment take place?Enrolment will take place from GCSE results day (20th of August) onwards.
What happens during enrolment?This is when you will come down to your chosen campus to enrol on your course, obtain your ID badge, and receive information about your first day and starting college.
How long does enrolment take?The process can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours.
What do I do if I’m on holiday and can’t make my scheduled appointment time?Please email studentrecruitment@hsdc.ac.uk and we will rearrange your appointment.
What ID can I bring?Valid Photographic ID (Passport, Driving License) are accepted. If you do not have Photo ID, please bring your birth certificate with you.
Can I bring parents / guardians with me?Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your parents/guardians with you.
What other documents do I need?You will need to bring a copy of your GCSE results and/or any other relevant qualifications, as well as any letters relating to your health and medical conditions from GPs or Consultants, and your EHCP if you have one. If you have lived in the UK for less than 3 years, please ensure you bring details of your visa with you.
I require a DBS for my course, how do I go about obtaining this?If you do not already have a DBS certificate, this will be discussed with you and arranged with the lecturer.
Do I need a uniform for my course?Some courses do require you to purchase a uniform - all this information will be given to you by the lecturer.
Can I change my course at enrolment?Yes, our admissions & careers teams will be on hand to discuss alternative courses if your plans have changed. This is subject to availability and entry requirements.
What happens if I don’t meet the entry requirements at enrolment?Don’t worry. Come to your enrolment appointment as planned and a member of staff will discuss your results with you and explore the options available. We will work with you to find the best pathway to achieve your goals.
When will I start college?We will run an induction week for our first years from the 1st-4th September, with classes officially starting on the 7th September.
When will I get my timetable?You will receive your timetable a few days after you enrol, via the MyHSDC app.
I no longer want my place at HSDC, how do I withdraw my application?Please email studentrecruitment@hsdc.ac.uk to let us know you no longer wish to study with us.
What do I need to bring if I am aged 19 or over?If you are aged 19 or over, please bring evidence of your benefits or earnings for our finance team.
What do I do if I studied abroad and do not have GCSEs?If you studied abroad, please ensure you have converted your grades via the UK ENIC website to GCSE equivalents and bring all this with you. If you are unable to convert them beforehand, please do not worry, our admissions team will be able to assist.
