AQA A LEVEL PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy will give you the opportunity to question the nature of reality, knowledge and what it means to know. The concept of mind, whether we have one and if we do, what is it? The metaphysics of God and how can we know God exists. Morality, and whether right and wrong mean anything at all.

Choose 3 Philosophy themed videos. Make a note of which ones and write a short summary of the content. Include your opinion on the topic. A paragraph for each will be enough.

As writing is a very important element of Philosophy your task for the summer is the following:

Write a short essay on one of the following topics:

  • God does not exist
  • Language is meaningless
  • Nothing is real
  • Capitalism is morally wrong
  • Slavery is inevitable
  • Computers can think

If you have a topic you are passionate about which is not listed above, and wish to write an argumentative essay on that, you can.
Aim for no more than 2000 words (but definitely more than 1 side of A4)
It can be typed or handwritten
Some research on this topic might help but it isn’t compulsory
