AAT qualifications benefit from being globally recognised and they’re valued by leading employers, from small high street firms to large accountancy businesses.

You will require an AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3). However, other relevant qualifications/experience will be considered on a case by case basis and discussed at interview. To enrol on this Adult Learning course you must be aged 18 years or over.

This qualification comprises three mandatory units and two specialist units.

The mandatory units are:

• Applied Management Accounting

• Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements

• Internal Accounting Systems and Controls

The optional units are:

• Business Tax

• Credit and Debt Management.

Course Duration: 1 year.

Accounting principles on this course will be taught in a classroom environment. Using simulations, e-learning and other teaching materials. Each module will be taught simultaneously alongside another module.

You will be assessed by computer based assessment after each module (excluding Accounting Systems and Controls) – results are published by AAT 6 weeks later. This qualification also includes a synoptic assessment drawing on and testing understanding of connections between the four mandatory topics covered across the qualification.

You will need to purchase books at an approximate cost of £120. If you are not already registered you will need to obtain AAT membership, further information can be found at www.aat.org.uk/membership

For students who wish to become chartered accountants, the study of AAT qualifications may also offer exemptions from the exams required by a range of chartered accountancy bodies. My experience at the college has been really good, it’s been really rewarding, all the lecturers were so lovely and supportive there’s no way I could have done it without them - the teaching has been outstanding.

Lucie Brooks, A Level student

College is definitely worth all the effort you put in, you get to meet lots of different people and it’s amazing.

Ebony Puttock, A Level student

I’m very, very happy, I didn’t expect to do so well. The College has been helpful and supportive. I loved my courses, and the teachers were really good – every single one of them. The facilities are great, but it’s the staff that really make this place.
