Overview

Course Start Date: September, January & April – Thursday Daytime.

Duration: 12 weeks.

Have you got what it takes to provide the crucial everyday support that organisations need to run their business, meet their targets and be successful? This qualification provides you with a thorough understanding of all the aspects of a business administration role, which could enable you to progress within a business environment. By exploring the principles of supporting events, project management and changes within a business environment, you will develop a competitive and impressive knowledge about this sector which can help you start a new career or progress within a current role

There is an expectation that learners would have a minimum of Level 1 English or skills at that level prior to enrolment. To enrol on this Adult Learning course you must be aged 19 years or over.

Unit 1: Principles of providing administrative services – this unit focuses on meetings, travel and accommodation, diary systems, office equipment, mail and customer service.

Unit 2: Principles of business document production and information management – this unit focuses on preparation and distribution of business documents and managing information in business organisations.

Unit 3: Understand communication in a business environment – this unit focuses on written and verbal business communication.

Unit 4: Understand employer organisations – this unit focuses on organisational structures and environments.

Unit 5: Understand how to develop working relationships with colleagues – this unit focuses on effective team working and working with colleagues.

Unit 6: Understand how to carry out business administration tasks – this will focus on business administration tasks relevant to working in a business environment.

Unit 7: Understand how to prepare text – focusing on the right way to prepare text for business use.

Once you have enrolled on the course, you will be allocated a tutor and assigned to your learning platform. Induction will follow and then you will be able to commence your course.

You will be assessed by submitting individual units of work and receive feedback for each unit as you progress. There is no final exam.

This course is free to all learners.

On completion of this course you will be workplace ready or have enhanced your existing work skills. You could progress on to any other course or look into Level 3 options.
