Ideally you will have completed Level 2 End of Life Care or you will be able to demonstrate this level of ability. You should also hold a pass in GCSE or Functional Skills English at Level 2.

On this online course, you will study the following units:

  1. Understanding end of life care
  2. Communication during end of life care
  3. Assessment and care planning in end of life care
  4. Person-centred approaches to end of life care
  5. Care during the final hours of life and bereavement care

Your learning material and assignments will be available to you through our distance learning platform.

You will be assessed through online assessments.

By completing this qualification you will have gained knowledge to support an application of employment to work in the Health Care sector as a Personal Care Assistant, a Senior Healthcare Assistant or a Palliative Care Assistant or you could progress to another distance learning course at HSDC.

“I owe the staff a lot and I wouldn't be where I am today without them.”

Tom Andrews, A Level Student

I would say it’s a college that really balances academia with fun, there is lots of extra-curricular stuff that you can get involved in. It has a really good work/life balance.

Laura Hagedorn, A Level student

The teaching and support was absolutely brilliant, they couldn’t have done anything more or anything better, if I had any questions my lecturers would always stay behind to help me if I needed it and their emails were always open, it was second to none. This college is the best by far.
