Spanish A Level at Havant Campus

This work will help you bridge the gap between GCSE Spanish and A Level Spanish. It is essential you are familiar with all the GCSE verb tenses and that you can conjugate different tenses confidently. Work on these tasks below. They will put you in good stead when you begin your course in September.

Did you know? Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world today with 414 million speakers. Learning Spanish has been shown to add between 10–15% to your wage, according to language specialist recruitment agency Euro London.

Write a diary of all the things you do during your summer break in Spanish. Use this task to explore new vocabulary and use different verb tenses.

Revise verb tenses regularly. Use websites such as Conjuguemos or spanish.language&culture.

Watch as many movies as you can in Spanish with subtitles in either English or Spanish. Make sure you understand what they say and make notes of new vocabulary making your own lists on Quizlet.

If you love music, listen to music in Spanish on lyricstraining and complete the lyrics as you listen to your favourite music.

This booklet has been prepared by MFL staff for you to read and the suggested activities contained in it will ensure that you get off to the best possible start in this subject area. It is very important that you read this booklet carefully over the summer. This will give you a clear understanding of what the course involves and what to expect next year.

Please see the attached booklet – this has been designed to help ease the gap between GCSE and AS/A Level Year 1 Spanish: Reading & Writing.
