OUTSTANDING FACILITIES
Our modern range of facilities enhances the learning experience for all HSDC students. From state-of-the-art science labs and industry-standard workshops to high-tech media suites and fully equipped performing arts theatres, the College provides an environment that mirrors real-world professional settings. South Downs campus also features excellent sports facilities, including a gym and fitness studios, supporting both physical education and recreational activities. With dedicated study spaces, advanced IT resources, and welcoming social areas, HSDC ensures students have everything they need to thrive academically and personally.
We believe in the continual investment in our facilities, having recently secured £3.5 million in funding for the construction of a new building at the Havant Campus, and a £2.6 million government investment for the Engineering department at the South Downs campus to provide high-quality technical education in a range of STEM occupations and industries whilst also keeping up-to-date with the advancements in technology.
STRONG INDUSTRY LINKS
Our focus is to provide students with real-world experience, preparing them for careers in a wide variety of sectors. This includes our strong industry links that are built through partnerships with local, regional and national employers, helping students gain practical skills and providing them with opportunities for networking, apprenticeships and work placements.
Recently we have become the first FE college in the UK to offer apprenticeships in Funeralcare nationally due to our industry links with Southern Co-op. Our students receive great work experience placements and are often invited to receive talks from various employers.
The HSDC Careers team are available to help students connect with employers, explore job opportunities, and provide advice on how to enter the workforce.
SUPPORTIVE & INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
HSDC prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive community where every student feels valued and respected. The college is committed to creating an environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equality, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of background or ability, have the opportunity to succeed.
We believe in breaking down barriers to opportunity and eliminating all forms of discrimination from our campuses through celebration. After all, it is the diversity of the College that makes it such an enriching and rewarding learning environment for all who study here. We partake in an annual Inclusion Week, which encourages students to represent their heritage by showcasing a range of snacks from their different countries and cultures.
Staff are approachable and dedicated, offering personalised guidance, wellbeing support and academic mentoring to help students reach their full potential. Through a wide range of clubs, societies, and student-led initiatives, HSDC encourages connection and collaboration, building a strong sense of belonging across the campuses.
