Students on the Expressions Programme visited the Safe Spaces Art Exhibition at Chichester Cathedral recently as part of their work towards their Discover and Explore Arts Award. They learnt about the cathedral and why some artists see it as a “safe place”. They then discussed what a safe space meant to them and the artists discussed their works with the students. The students then went on to do a stained glass windows workshop or make a gargoyle. Some of the artists had special needs and the dialogue was purposeful and rewarding. A very productive day was had by all.
