Further world-class facilities are set to await HSDC students thanks to the latest £3m government investment which will boost T Level development.

Students and staff at HSDC are celebrating yet more national recognition and government investment in their highly successful T Level programme, the new technical qualifications which are equivalent to three A Levels.

The Department for Education has awarded the College more than £3m to develop a range of outstanding facilities on both the Alton College Campus and the South Downs Campus.

An investment of £1.3m will help to prepare facilities at HSDC South Downs for the upcoming T Levels in Catering and Animal Care and Management, both of which are set to start in September 2023.

Additionally, students opting to study at Alton College on T Level courses in Animal Care and Management, Management and Administration, Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction, Media Broadcast and Production, Education and Childcare, Legal Services, Finance and Accounting will all enjoy world-class learning spaces at the campus in September 2023 as a result of a £2m investment from the Department for Education.

“With nearly £5m of existing investment and more than 400 students already choosing to study T Levels at the College, this further investment continues our incredibly successful journey to support young people’s careers in essential industries, and help them towards amazing futures.”

Assistant Principal and T Level Lead Ashley Grute added:

“T Levels launched in September 2020 and have proved to be an extremely popular choice for young people who have a clear career direction in mind.

“Through academic study and large periods of time working alongside professionals in the relevant industry, the knowledge and skills that students develop make them highly employable and ready to start amazing careers or pursue Higher Education study with incredible confidence.”

Students can still apply for all courses being offered in September 2022, with applications to the new 2023 T Levels opening in October 2022.
