Higher Education and Employment Fair

April 18, 2023

HE FAIR

HSDC’s annual Higher Education and Employment Fair was visited by a large number of enthusiastic students who were keen to discover a range of post-college pathways.

Students were invited to meet and network with a range of prospective employers, universities, charities, services, gap year providers and HSDC course lecturers to find out more about opportunities they can explore once they have completed their studies.

We welcomed over 180 exhibitors to our annual event which was held at both our Havant and Alton campuses. This included a range of universities and employers such as Winchester, Hertfordshire, Leeds, Royal Holloway, BAE, Southern Co-op and Boeing. Not only did employers educate students on their organisation, but also informed students of multiple different routes they could consider including internships, graduate schemes and apprenticeships.

Our Alton College event also included Isaac Pett, a current student studying Professional Music Production at HSDC South Downs. Isaac entertained students and exhibitors with a vibrant DJ set throughout the day which had an extremely positive reception. Not only did this provide entertainment for all attendees but also showcased the incredible talent of students we have here at HSDC.

Speaking on the event, Billie Price, Art and Design Technician said:

“The event has been good. It has been great to see lots of students visit each stand and there has been a lot of interest in the Art and Design course and continuing of studies at HSDC which is excellent”.

Speaking on the event, Joe Sillence, SUN Progression Mentor said:

“The event happens each year and this year has yet again been a success. It has also been the busiest Higher Education Fair for Alton with around 300 students attending, which I am really happy with. All internal and external parties have been really great to work with, which makes it even better! It genuinely has been an excellent event and all students seemed to be really interested and enthusiastic which was great to see”.

This event is an invaluable experience for our students and therefore we would like to thank all the universities, charities, services, gap year providers and employers who attended our Higher Education and Employment Fair at our Alton and Havant Campuses. We can’t wait to welcome you back next year!
