HSDC is proud to announce the launch of Elevate, the College’s new enrichment strategy designed to enhance every student’s experience, foster ambition and develop the skills needed to thrive in life beyond education. This enrichment programme will come into action for the start of the 2026/27 academic year.
At the heart of this new programme is a commitment to delivering an inclusive and aspirational college experience that responds directly to the needs and voices of students, providing a coordinated framework within which personal development, wellbeing and employability are the priorities.
Elevate will be structured around seven dynamic and unique strands, offering students a host of opportunities to complement their studies and encourage them to become well-rounded individuals. The different strands of Elevate are:
- Be Active: Promoting physical wellbeing through inclusive sport, fitness and movement opportunities alongside specialist training academies.
- Be Aspirational: Supporting high-level progression, including university pathways, mentoring by the Oxford University Society and scholarly projects.
- Be Creative: Enabling students to express themselves through arts, drama and music.
- Be Entrepreneurial: Developing enterprise, leadership and real-world business skills.
- Be Healthy: Focusing on mental and physical wellbeing, including stress management and health awareness.
- Be Technical: Providing opportunities in areas such as gaming, coding, science and e-sports to support future-facing skills development.
- Be Involved: Encouraging participation in clubs, societies and student-led initiatives that build belonging and strengthen community.
Together, these seven strands will be delivered across all HSDC campuses, with flexible sessions running during lunchtimes and twilight periods to maximise accessibility.
Elevate will also have a measurable impact, with student engagement and progress being logged via the MyHSDC App to provide tangible evidence of skills development to support progression into employment and higher education
Suki Dhesi, HSDC’s Deputy Principal for Curriculum and Quality, is very excited to see the results of this new enrichment programme on students, saying:
“I am so pleased that HSDC has created an exciting offer of activities across a range of interesting fields such as physical, technical and creative to make sure our students ‘Elevate’ their skills to new heights. These fantastic additional activities launch in September and are a brilliant opportunity for HSDC students to discover new passions, and truly stand out from the crowd as they progress into their lives beyond college.”
The launch of Elevate marks a significant step forward in HSDC’s overarching commitment to delivering a holistic education. By combining academic excellence with a wide-reaching enrichment offer, the College continues to ensure its students are not only successful learners, but confident and capable individuals ready to make their mark in the world.
