Students at HSDC’s Havant Campus recently came together to celebrate inclusion, diversity and community at a vibrant Pride Event organised and led by learners at the College.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for learners across the campus to learn more about the Pride movement, its history and its ongoing importance, particularly for young people who are navigating identity and belonging in today’s society.
Colourful Pride flags were distributed across campus, creating a visible display of support and solidarity, whilst an ice cream van also proved to be a popular attraction!
The event also highlighted the passion and dedication of HSDC’s students, who took the lead in the planning and delivery of the celebration. One of the organisers said on the day:
“We wanted to create an event that was not only enjoyable, but also educational. Pride is about celebrating who people are, but it’s also about recognising the challenges still faced by the LGBTQ+ community today. It was great to see so many students getting involved and showing their support!”
By bringing students together through celebration, education and shared experiences, the event reflected HSDC’s commitment to fostering a culture of respect, understanding and belonging for all members of its community.
