Students at HSDC Havant enjoyed an action-packed day of sport, teamwork and fundraising as the College’s Student union took the lead in delivering a successful Sports Day that encouraged students to get active, have fun and support a worthy cause.
Held across Havant Campus, the event, known as The Jolliffe Games, featured a packed programme of activities, welcoming students of all abilities to take part in a variety of competitive and recreational sports throughout the day.
The schedule included more traditional sports such as netball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, running and football, but also some fun classics such as the egg and spoon race and wheelbarrow race.
Alongside the sporting activities, the Student Union organised a raffle in support of Ickle Pickles, a charity that helps hospitals to support babies that are born prematurely. This raffle helped to raise valuable funds for the charity, demonstrating the positive impact that HSDC’s students always make in their community.
James Jolliffe, Vice President of Havant’s SU who helped to organise the games, said:
“I deeply appreciate and thank all students who helped out and participated in the games, and hope that these games show the great accomplishments the SU has achieved and will continue to do so.”
The Jolliffe Games is a true representation of HSDC’s continued commitment to supporting student wellbeing and enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom. Not only do events like these provide our students with the opportunity to have fun with their peers, but it also enhances their confidence and organisational skills.
The success of the day is a testament to the tireless enthusiasm and dedication of Havant’s students, whose energy and community spirit ensured that the event was enjoyable and impactful for everyone involved.
