HSDC SKILLS BOOTCAMPS Funded by Hampshire County Council

Welcome to our HSDC Skills Bootcamps, a unique opportunity to gain essential work-ready skills funded by Hampshire County Council across the Hampshire region.

This funding will boost Hampshire’s workforce, ensuring employers have access to new talent, and individuals acquire the skills to get the type of jobs that they aspire to, and HSDC is excited to be a part of this important initiative.

Skills for life skills bootcamps

Skills Bootcamps are government-funded, short courses lasting up to 16 weeks, aimed at adults aged 19 and over. They are co-designed with employers to ensure they meet current market demands and address local priority sectors, thereby supporting economic growth in Hampshire.

Key Details

  • Duration: 4 (on campus) or 8 (online) weeks.
  • Age: Adults who have turned 19 on or before July 31st 2025 are eligible.
  • Course Type: Flexible learning options including classroom-based and online.
  • Cost: Funded by the government and free for those who are unemployed or self-employed. Employers sending their staff to Skills Bootcamps will need to make a small financial contribution per learner.

Skills Bootcamps are ideal for:

  • Adults looking to update or build new skills: Whether you are unemployed, self-employed or looking to make a career change, our Skills Bootcamps offer the training you need to succeed. PLUS, unemployed learners will get a guaranteed interview.
  • Employers aiming to upskill their team: Shape the Skills Bootcamps to upskill your current team or recruit newly trained professionals. While these are free for unemployed or self-employed individuals, employers contributing their staff will need to make a small financial contribution per learner.

As part of the Skills Bootcamps, unemployed learners are offered a guaranteed job interview.
HSDC are working with Hampshire employers who are currently recruiting or looking to take on Early Years or Customer Service.

Apprentices in new roles by offering interviews through the Skills Bootcamps:

  • The interview must be for a current vacancy
  • The interview must be secured, but doesn’t have to take place, by Thursday 31 March 2026
  • The vacancy must be for a duration of 12 weeks minimum

Our highly experienced team will support you from start to finish. They will help you to select a programme, recruit the right candidate and deliver excellent training programmes.
