Becoming an apprentice is designed to give you the best of both worlds, work and study. Not only will you learn in a setting that reflects your wider career aspirations, you will have support from HSDC and a work based-trainer. On a typical week most apprentices will be in their place of work four days and at college one day.
As one of the region’s leading Colleges, we deliver high quality and professional training, using assessors and trainers who have years of industry experience. We work with a wide range of employers who are looking to recruit individuals ready to start on their career.
All Apprenticeships are linked to an hourly wage, meaning you will have the opportunity to learn the skills required to excel in your workplace whilst also being paid by your employer. Here at HSDC we encourage employers to pay above the National Minimum Wage of £3.70, an average weekly wage for an HSDC apprentice is approximately £180.
