Accommodation

Student accommodation is arranged with local families. It is important that all students feel comfortable, happy and ‘at home’ in their accommodation and every effort is made to match the right student to the right environment.

A student living with a family has a single study bedroom, with breakfast lunch and evening meal provided (Full board). Some homes also offer kitchen access for students who wish to make their own snacks. Homes are usually a single bus journey away on a direct route that should take no more than 20 minutes – occasionally a little longer at peak times.

HSDC provide a variety of Host families and give peace of mind to the parents because you will receive the best care whilst studying in the UK with an excellent support team and treated as a member of a big family.

The relationship between you and the host family is crucial so every effort is made to match your interests and hobbies with your new host family and also they will help you to understand and enjoy the British culture.

Guardianship

The College requires all overseas pupils to have a UK-based Guardian. A Guardian should be a responsible adult living in the UK who can be there in an emergency on behalf of parents. For those parents who do not have a family friend to act as guardian, they can have the opportunity to have a Guardianship to act in Loco Parentis for their students. This not only satisfies the College requirements but also the UKVI guidelines and keeps EU/International students safe while they are not in school and are unaccompanied. Giving the parents and colleges peace of mind. It is also mandatory.

The guardian will be your next of kin in the UK. The guardian will be responsible in case of any emergency 24/7. The guardian will contact you regularly for an update on your progress and help you with any worries and concerns that you may have.

Prices:

  • £3,300 1 September-15 December (15 weeks) guardianship included
  • £5,150 3 September –  17 February (24 weeks) guardianship included
  • £6,350 1 January- 22 June (24 weeks) guardianship included
  • £8,850 academic year  – 3 September – 22 June Half board 42 weeks guardianship included (Christmas will have extra cost)
