International – Why Alton, Havant or South Downs?

Regardless of whether you choose to study at Alton, Havant or South Downs, you will have plenty to see and do when you are not studying. From the historic naval city of Portsmouth, to only being an hour train ride away from London, you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to explore!

Why come to Alton Campus?

Alton Campus is the ideal place for students from overseas to come and benefit from everything that life in the UK has to offer. The campus is modern and well equipped, providing students with the ideal facilities to support their studies.

Alton itself is a quiet rural town just over an hour by train from London and close to the historic cities of Winchester and Portsmouth to the south. In the nearby village of Chawton, you will find the 17th Century House where one of England’s greatest novelists, Jane Austen, spent the last eight years of her life.

Why come to Havant and South Downs campuses?

The nearby city of Portsmouth is very close by for both campuses. Portsmouth is only a 30 minute bus journey away from Havant or South Downs and the train station at Havant will take you to Portsmouth and Southsea central train station in only 15 minutes!

There is so much to do in Portsmouth –

  • Historic Dockyard – Mary Rose and HMS Victory and HMS Warrior
  • Charles Dickens’ Birthplace
  • Southsea Beach
  • Spinnaker Tower
  • Gunwharf Quays
  • D-Day Museum
  • Southsea Castle
