Following the announcement from the Government that face-to-face teaching can commence from 8 March, we are working hard to plan for the return of students onsite. Please visit our Coronavirus Update page to keep up to date on our plans to welcome students back to campus.
Our A Level focused centre will be based at our Havant Campus and is THE place to study your chosen A Level subjects.
You will be taught by dedicated and experienced lecturers who are experts in their field, providing a high standard of teaching will ensure you reach your potential. We provide you with more teaching time per week, per A Level subject, than other local colleges so you’ll have even more invaluable time with your lecturers.
In addition to more contact time, your personal tutor will be a key figure in your student experience. Giving you one-to-one support, helping you set targets and monitor your progress to ensure you are getting the most out of your time at College.
When it comes to learning, technology is embedded throughout the A Level curriculum. Our A Level Centre of Excellence uses Google for Education as an integrated digital platform. This not only makes learning easier, it also equips you with industry-recognised skills.
There’s a lot more to College than just gaining qualifications. The HSDC Be Extraordinary programme is designed to give you lots of new opportunities and experiences.
If you’re aspiring to attend university at Oxford, Cambridge or another Russell Group university we’ve got many activities to help your application really stand out. These include our HE+ programme offered in conjunction with the University of Cambridge, our optional Extended Project Qualifications and guidance with university admissions tests.
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved with College life through our Student Union and Student Ambassador schemes. These not only give you a chance to meet other students, they’ll also look great on your CV or UCAS application.
If keeping active is your thing we’ve got a range of sports teams for you to join. Whether you want to keep fit, get to know new people, or are aiming to compete at the highest level we offer you a range of high-quality sporting activities. What’s more, you’re not restricted to only the sports offered at the Havant Campus – three campuses means more opportunities to take part.
HSDC A Level students have a 98% pass rate, with 42% of our students achieving the highest grades of A*- B.
More students studying ‘facilitating’ A Level subjects* achieved AAB grades or higher compared to other local Colleges such as Portsmouth College or Highbury College.
With such good A Level results and extracurricular activities it’s no wonder that many of our students progress to study at leading Russell Group universities. Equally, with the range of transferable skills gained at college students also have the option to go straight into employment or to a Higher Apprenticeship.
