On this course you will study:

  • Bookkeeping controls
  • Bookkeeping transactions
  • Costing
  • Using accounting software
  • Synoptic assessment (working effectively in accounting and finance)

This course is taught in a classroom environment. Each of the five modules is covered independently, rather than being taught simultaneously.

There will be a computer based assessment at the end of each module. This qualification also includes a synoptic assessment, which draws on and tests your understanding of connections between different topics covered across the qualification.

You will need to purchase books to aid your studies (the approximate cost for these is £100). You will also be required to obtain membership of the AAT in order to take exams, at an approximate cost of £130.

Following on from this course you will be able to enter the accounting profession at a junior level.

You can progress on to the Level 3 Diploma to enhance your career potential.

I focused and worked hard to get the grades. I had some support from my lecturer during a stressful time. The college is really good and supportive.

Natasha Boerer, BTEC student

I’m really happy and pleased with my grades. I really loved my time at the college, I have also made lots of friends, it’s a really nice place to be, I don’t want to leave.

Lauren Piper, A Level student

I’m very, very happy, I didn’t expect to do so well. The College has been helpful and supportive. I loved my courses, and the teachers were really good – every single one of them. The facilities are great, but it’s the staff that really make this place.

Matthew Randell, A Level student
