This one-year Vocational creative course will give you the opportunity to explore the various aspects of Art and Design: you will cover a wide range of units such as exploring the work of artists & designers, graphic design, photography, textile design and producing art or design work for sale and exhibition. A highly practical course, ideal for you if you are aiming to progress toward Level 3 or a creative career.
You will be guided by specialist staff and given the opportunity to experiment and expand your creative potential in our dedicated teaching rooms.
Five GCSEs at grade 3 including English Language and Mathematics and an interest in art-related subjects.
This course will provide students with an interest in art and design with the opportunity to explore the materials, methods and processes that support art and design activities, and to begin to develop some related technical skills.
Lessons activities are wide-ranging and stimulating from theory-based to practical exploration. You will develop your own ideas by researching other artists and be encouraged to examine the world around you visually. You will work through a variety of techniques and learn to work with appropriate media, materials and processes.
Art & Design students are expected to write about and annotate work, express personal and creative ideas and produce final outcomes using a range of approaches and methods derived in textiles, graphic design and photography.
