Academic Criteria: Five GCSEs at grades 9–4 (or A*–C), including English Language and Mathematics, plus at least one A Level or an equivalent Level 3 qualification (preferably in a relevant creative subject).
Typical Profiles: applicants hold one or two creative A Levels with high predicted grades, or have completed a full-time UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma with a predicted grade of Merit or above.
Application Timeline: Applications between October and December. Portfolios submitted during the week following the February half-term.
During this course, you will engage in a range of challenging, diagnostic projects that explore diverse aspects of Art & Design. These include Graphic Design, Fashion and Textile Design, Illustration, Photography, Fine Art, 3D Design, and Animation.
Unit 1: Shorter two-week projects. Part 1 introduces core themes and links to major subject areas, while Part 2 allows you to select a specific specialism from the areas listed above.
Unit 2: Longer, in-depth projects focused on your chosen specialist areas.
Unit 3 (Level 4): A Final Major Project where you will choose, investigate, and execute a creative topic aligned with your skills and career ambitions.

Investigations into historical and contemporary artists and designers are integrated into practical project work. There will be opportunities to take part in day trips to visit exhibitions, as well as overseas locations. Previous destinations have included New York, Iceland, San Francisco and Beijing.
