This course is intended for those who assess vocational skills knowledge and understanding in a range of environments e.g. workplace, classroom or other training environments.
In order to be considered for this course, an informal interview will need to be undertaken with a member of the Adult Learning Team at the Havant Campus.
A minimum of two candidates including special requirement arrangements is essential for two of the three units you will study on this course.
On this course you will study the following units:
Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (Unit 301). This unit can be undertaken as a standalone unit as it is a knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor or for those who need to know about assessment practice but who are not currently practising e.g. a starting point for aspiring assessors or a professional development qualification for managers, HR or quality assurance personnel. Once you have completed this unit you can then progress onto one or both of the following units (302 and or 303) both with a pre-requisite of working in a suitable environment where you can assess candidates.
Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (Unit 302)
Assessing Vocational Achievement (Unit 303)
Each unit will comprise of a training session, tutorials, professional discussions, assessments and observations and is designed for those who wish to assess occupational competence in the work environment.
At HSDC, an experienced and qualified tutor will guide and support you through the complete programme as both your individual tutor and assessor. You will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate practice, observation of practice and professional discussion.
