Overview

This Level 2 certificate offers learners a comprehensive understanding of behaviour that challenges. You will explore why people behave the way they do and develop practical skills to manage challenging behaviours in a safe and respectful manner.

There is an expectation that you would have a minimum of Level 1 English or skills at that level prior to enrolment.

To enrol on this Adult Learning course you must be aged 19 years or over.

You will study the following areas:

  • Understand how to recognise that an individual’s behaviour has the potential to intensify,

  • Understand legislation and support relevant to behaviour that challenges,

  • Understand how to prepare to manage an incident of behaviour that challenges,

  • Understand how to manage a situation when an individual is acting in a challenging manner,

  • Understand your own role in providing support following an incident of challenging behaviour.

Once you have enrolled on the course, you will be allocated a tutor and assigned to your learning platform. An induction will follow and then you will be able to commence your course.

You will be assessed by submitting individual units of work and will receive feedback for each unit as you progress. There is no final exam.

On completion of this course, you will be ready for the workplace or have enhanced your existing work skills. You could progress on to any other distance learning course or look at the Level 3 options.

The staff that will be supporting you through this course have sector expertise.

College is definitely worth all the effort you put in, you get to meet lots of different people and it’s amazing.

Ebony Puttock, A Level student

I would say it’s a college that really balances academia with fun, there is lots of extra-curricular stuff that you can get involved in. It has a really good work/life balance.

Laura Hagedorn, A Level student

My experience at the College was great, it’s very different to school, and I think it’s a good step to going to university. The support was amazing, I loved all of my teachers, they helped me through everything. The College is friendly and you will succeed.
