Overview

This course is ideal if you are already working in, or intending to work within, the healthcare or social care sector.

This course would support job roles such as a care worker, care coordinator or healthcare assistant.

A requirement for the course is that you have a minimum of Level 1 in English and Mathematics or be prepared to sit an English and Mathematics assessment to establish your current levels. Please discuss any queries regarding your English and Mathematics because all applications will be considered on an individual basis.

On this online course you will study the following units:

  1. Understand how to work in end of life care
  2. Care planning in end of life care
  3. Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort
  4. End of life care and dementia
  5. Understanding the role of the care worker in time of death
  6. Understand loss and grief in end of life care

All learning will take place using an interactive distance learning platform with a virtual tutor and an HSDC assessor, who will be on hand for any queries and will mark your assessments and provide you with feedback.

You will be assessed through online assessment.

On completion of this Level 2 course, you could progress to another Distance Learning programme or Level 3.
