You will require an AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3). However, other relevant qualifications/experience will be considered on a case by case basis and discussed at interview.

Throughout the duration of this course you will cover the following six modules:

  • Financial Statements for Limited Companies
  • Management Accounting: Budgeting
  • Management Accounting: Decisions and Control
  • Accounting Systems and Controls
  • Personal Tax
  • Business Tax

Accounting principles on this course will be taught in a classroom environment. Using simulations, e-learning and other teaching materials. Each module will be taught simultaneously alongside another module.

You will be assessed by computer based assessment after each module (excluding Accounting Systems and Controls) – results are published by AAT 6 weeks later. This qualification also includes a synoptic assessment drawing on and testing understanding of connections between the four mandatory topics covered across the qualification.

You will need to purchase books at an approximate cost of £120. If you are not already registered you will need to obtain AAT membership, further information can be found at www.aat.org.uk/membership

You can progress onto the professional Accounting bodies such as ACCA or CIMA.

My experience at the college was enjoyable and productive, with thoroughly helpful people surrounding you, an excellent experience. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was, with the work shop time and experience I had, it was a great two years preparing me for the next stage.

Edward Smith, BTEC student

I overcame a couple of barriers by working really hard to get the top grades. My experience was really good, with the course and the lecturers, the residentials and activities, together it was all really good. I had really great teaching support, I could always go to the lecturers and speak to them if I needed to.
