Lead Adult Care Workers help adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives. You’ll provide supervision, frontline leadership, guidance and direction for others, or working autonomously, exercising judgement and accountability.You may be employed in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings, specialising in a variety of areas such as learning disability, mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, home care, dementia and palliative care.This Apprenticeship will prepare you for delegated responsibility for the standard of care provided and supervising the work of other Care Workers.Typical job titles include Senior Care Worker, Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Social Work Assistant, Community Support Worker, Community Development Worker or Personal Assistant. These could all specialise in a variety of areas such as learning disability, mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, home care, dementia and end-of-life care.
Our expectation is that all Apprentices should already possess English and Mathematics to a GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent. However, we will consider applicants without these grades subject to an initial assessment with one of the Apprenticeship Team.
Day Release, one day a week at HSDC for taught lessons and four days at your place of work for on-the-job training and learning, with a monthly visit from your Apprenticeship Assessor.Typical duration of Apprenticeship: 18 months and 1-3 months End Point Assessment period.
Apprentices can be taught via classroom delivery, work-based learning/assessment and vocational “on and off the job training”. This is always dependent on the course, the preferences of the business and the wishes of the learner.

Upon completion of your Level 3 Apprenticeship, you can apply to university to study Social Care, Nursing or to become a Paramedic.
Opportunities may exist to gain professional accreditation in your chosen field post completion of the qualification. Your Assessor will support you with information on gaining professional accreditation. As we work with Apprentices that are already employed, if you attend our day release programmes you will mix with a diverse range of businesses with Apprentices in the same sector.
