This Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Beauty & Spa Therapy aims to provide you with a range of specialist practical skills and technical knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the beauty and spa therapy industry.

You will be expected to comply with the beauty industry standards of dress code; this applies to both theory and practical lessons.

This course is ideal for those that have already studied a Level 2 beauty therapy qualification.

There is a minimum entry requirement of having a full Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification. In addition to this, you will also need a grade 4 or higher in English Language and Science. Jewellery and facial piercings are not acceptable in the classroom/salons and must be removed before entering.

Throughout the course you will cover the following topics:

The course involves a considerable amount of practical work. There will be masterclasses set up by employers throughout the learning programme. During workshop sessions, you will watch demonstrations of skills which you will then practise on each other before progressing to work on paying clients. You will also receive separate lessons in theory, anatomy and physiology which will help to develop your knowledge and understanding of all aspects of beauty therapy.

This course will be assessed via a final practical assessment day and final written exam. Practical assessments are externally set by the awarding organisation and internally marked. Exams will be externally set and marked. You will be able to identify and use effective skills, knowledge and understanding from across the units’ content area and will be judged against the unit grading criteria.

You are required to keep a record of achievement logbook as evidence of treatments performed. You will be required to do two weeks of work experience. You will always need to be in full uniform and carry your kit to all practical classes.

Everyone at the College was really helpful, and there’s lots of facilities, meaning it’s very easy to get your work done on time, and get good grades. The teaching and support was excellent, they were always on top of it, and made sure you got work done on time and you were challenged. Everyone is friendly and its really diverse, meaning you can get involved in lots of different things.

The tutors were really supportive and it was all thanks to them that I have achieved what I have. I’ve also made loads of great friends and really enjoyed my time at the college.
