Our UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology (Games Design) is your ultimate quest to unlock the secrets of game creation! Five GCSEs at grade 3 including English Language or Mathematics.
The course covers introductory knowledge and real life working skills. It sits on the Creative Media specification, but is adapted to specialise in the gaming and esports industries. You will study seven introductory units and a final unit which will determine your overall grade. Unit 1 – Introduction to creative media methods and skills. Unit 2 – Introduction to production techniques in creative media. Unit 3 – Understanding an audience in creative media production. Unit 4 – Contextual research for creative media. Unit 5 – Exploring audio production and technology Unit 6 – Exploring visual production and technology. Unit 7 – Exploring interactive media production and technology. Unit 8 – Personal project and presentation in creative media production. Unit 8 is a self-directed project that gives you the freedom to explore an area of industry that you are most interested in.
You will be taught by lecturers who teach across our Level 3 gaming and esports provision. The course will be delivered through lectures and workshops, with a mixture of practical projects and written assessments for you to complete.
You will produce a range of projects over this two year course, all of which are assessed by coursework. You will complete a number of formative units where you will be given feedback and at the end of each year, a final major project that will determine your grade.
If you achieve a Merit or above you may wish to progress to any relevant Level 3 / T Level course at HSDC.
