Psychology A Level at Alton Campus

Complete the following tasks independently before the start of term in September.  You should use the Internet to research your answers plus Psychology books if you are able to visit a library.

Present your work in any format you like and bring it with you to your first lesson. We’ll discuss it with your class.

Research and produce a fact sheet on two key studies: 

  1. Milgram’s (1963) Obedience to Authority study
  2. Zimbardo’s Stanford Prison Experiment

In your fact sheet use the following headings:

  • Aim
  • Participants
  • Procedure
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Explain how research such as Milgram & Zimbardo might explain historical atrocities such as the Nazi persecution of the Jews.

I overcame a couple of barriers by working really hard to get the top grades. My experience was really good, with the course and the lecturers, the residentials and activities, together it was all really good. Everyone at the College was really helpful, and there’s lots of facilities, meaning it’s very easy to get your work done on time, and get good grades. The teaching and support was excellent, they were always on top of it, and made sure you got work done on time and you were challenged.
