Be Active

Keep playing the sports you enjoy

Whether you’re playing for fun and fitness, or aiming to compete at the highest level, we offer you a wide range of high-quality sporting opportunities through our sports teams.  Importantly, you don’t have to be studying a sports-related course to take part in our sporting provision. Team trials are held before you start with us, so you’ll be ready to start training and playing as soon as you enrol.

To get involved in playing the sports you love, during enrolment simply complete a team sports form telling us what sport you want to be involved in. Additionally, if you compete in another sport there is opportunity to take part in regional and potentially national competitions.

If you are part of a club outside of HSDC and would like the opportunity to represent the College in competitions then please contact our College Sport Maker.

Recreational Sports

We value the importance of our College communities’ health and wellbeing and we find that through active activity, we are able to encourage you to maintain a healthy lifestyle for both mental and physical health.

My experience at the College was great, it’s very different to school, and I think it’s a good step to going to university. The support was amazing, I loved all of my teachers, they helped me through everything. The College is friendly and you will succeed.

Heidi Adamson Brattland, A Level student

There are lots of people at the college, each studying a diverse range of courses, people from all different areas come to study here, it creates a sense of community, there is a huge social aspect to college life across all courses.

Lee Backhouse, BTEC student

I would say it’s a college that really balances academia with fun, there is lots of extra-curricular stuff that you can get involved in. It has a really good work/life balance.

Laura Hagedorn, A Level student
