Travel information for part time students

Part time students who are in receipt of an income-based benefit may be able to claim their travel expenses back from their home to the course venue. Once a benefit has been seen and approved by the Student Travel & Support team, you can either claim bus, train or mileage costs. You will need to complete a Travel Expenses form every time that you are requesting a refund. If you are using public transport, proof of the tickets must be attached to the form.

If you are claiming mileage, this will be processed half-termly at 0.40p per mile.

All travel claims will be checked against attendance.

Before you claim any costs, you will need to complete the Financial Assistance for Part Time Students Application Form.
