SUCCESS STORY: Computer Science student achieves ‘unprecedented’ success with 100% A Level mark

September 8, 2017

A former Havant & South Downs College (HSDC) student has been named ‘top student’ after achieving 100% in her A Level Computer Science.

Chloe Boulton recently secured an outstanding four A* in her A Levels at HSDC, and now has been recognised for an even higher achievement.

Exam board WJEC has named Chloe as their ‘top student’, stating that her results are ‘unprecedented’, and both Chloe’s lecturer and tutor have expressed their pride in her incredible success.

Lecturer, Nicolette Dryden, said: “Chloe has achieved the highest marks in the country for her EDUQAS A Level Computer Science (400/400). This involved two three hour exams and a substantial programming project.

“Computer Science requires a breadth of skills to write and solve complex algorithms, as well as written explanations justifying choice of programming techniques and computer application.

“Chloe has a natural talent for programming which involves problem solving, logical thinking and a lot of perseverance.

“Obviously Chloe is very intelligent and extremely hard working and this achievement is certainly well deserved.

“As her Computer Science teacher for two years I am very proud of her.”

Chloe is now taking a year out and hoping to go on to university next year.
