Hairdressing and Theatrical Makeup students showcased their fine-tuned skills at the ‘House of Hair’ show.
The students put their talents to the test styling their models and showing off what they have learned so far on their vocational courses.
The show kicked off at 6.30pm on February 28, with all the proceeds from the evening going to two charities – Cancer Research UK and the Elizabeth Foundation.
Hair & Beauty Technician Hannah Wiggins said: “The Elizabeth Foundation is a local charity from Cosham. One of our students is deaf so the charity is very close to her heart, they actually taught her how to speak.
“She doesn’t let her disability hold her back. Quite a lot of our students are a bit shy to engage but she is amazing. It feels nice to give back to the charity that helped her.”
Hannah continued: “They all did really well. The students spoke about their work as their model showcased their hair and makeup.
“They made all the wigs and fitted them, created full body art – they made it all from scratch. It is an excellent way to celebrate their skills.”
What else have our Hair & Beauty students been up to over the past month?
- On 26 February beauty students were invited to take a trip up to London’s Excel to experience one of the biggest industry events in the UK. They had the opportunity to learn from industry experts through seminars, live demonstrations and the Education Forum. They tested and sampled new products and treatments and bought products and equipment for their own beauty treatments and to expand their own beauty base.
- On 9 and 27 March Hair & Beauty students pampered clients for the Mother’s Day and Easter Pamper Days, where they provided treatments for the ultimate relaxation as well as lunch provided by our catering students.
- On 8 March Hair & beauty students went to QA’s neonatal unit to give new mothers free beauty treatments.
