Vocational Hair & Beauty students from Havant & South Downs College created a day of ultimate relaxation for members of the public on their Easter pamper day.
The day, held at HSDC’s industry-standard Synergy Salon, consisted of a luxury pedicure, a Dermalogica facial and a two-course lunch with tea and coffee served by Catering & Hospitality students at the College Restaurant.
Hair & Beauty Technician, Hannah Wiggins, said: “For the salon its a great opportunity to increase our client base, with our loyal clients introducing their friends and family, its a great chance for us to showcase our salon and provide a great service that new and returning clients would love to experience again.
“Its also a great opportunity to work with the restaurant as we expand our service across two industries.
“The restaurant provides lunch and silver service to our pamper day clients and the feedback is always outstanding.
“With lots of our existing clients not even realising we have such a lovely restaurant on our doorstep which they’ll be sure to return to!”
Level 2 Hair and Beauty students hosted the day, with two students on reception welcoming the clients and carrying out a full consultation. The student therapists then performed treatments on the clients, experiencing a busy salon atmosphere and facing challenges they might not otherwise come across in a class workshop session.
Hannah continued: “All students gained great assessment opportunities throughout the whole pamper day which also give them great confidence in their own progression.”
The day proved to be a success, and customer Catharina Axelsson Pine said: “I have had a very relaxing day, all the students have been very professional and friendly. I had a facial and a pedicure and both treatments were lovely, I would definitely return to Synergy!”
