Sixteen HSDC students are working on CyberStart Essentials, the third stage of a four-stage programme as part of HSDC’s Cyber Discovery, the Government’s landmark cyber security training programme aimed at 14-18 year olds in the UK. CyberStart Assess took place in November with 36 students participating to solve tricky cyber security problems. From there, students progressed through CyberStart Game, the subsequent stage. Participants are introduced to vital skills, such as ethical hacking, penetration testing and digital forensics in a safe environment.
So far, Cyber Discovery has uncovered phenomenal talent and guided young adults on to a rewarding career path. Cyber Discovery is a key component of the UK’s National Cyber Security Strategy, providing young people with an opportunity to begin the journey towards an exciting and challenging career. The intention is to discover and develop the next generation of cyber security superstars and, as a result, further secure our digital future.
